What a beautiful view we had the last couple of days! 😍☀️

We were in Mears upgrading two decks for Sue, and these before & afters are quite the transformation!

The main deck received premium treated lumber decking with black all-aluminum railing, giving it a fresh, clean look that fits this home, and that view, perfectly.

We also rebuilt the small side entrance and added that cute little awning over the door. There wasn’t anything covering this entrance before, so now Sue has a little extra protection from both the sun and rain.

And there’s actually another part of this project that we think is worth sharing. Sue originally contacted us about replacing the old wooden walkway with wood again. Because it sits so close to the ground, we recommended concrete instead. We aren’t concrete contractors, so that meant turning down that portion of the job, but we’d rather recommend what we believe will hold up best long-term than take someone’s money for something we don’t feel is the right solution.

Sue took our advice…and ended up doing a LOT of concrete! We think it all came together beautifully.

Doug and Wendy’s deck in Muskegon was due for a complete rebuild. The existing deck had several problems…it wasn’t properly attached to the house, the stairs weren’t up to code, and there were quite a few other areas that didn’t meet current code requirements.

So this one came all the way down and was rebuilt the right way from the ground up.

Now Doug and Wendy have a deck that’s not only a huge improvement in looks, but more importantly, properly built, safe, and ready to enjoy for years to come.

Another Newaygo County Treasure Hunt is in the books!

This is our third year participating, and it has quickly become something we look forward to every year! It’s such a fun way to get out, explore our community, and spend a little time together as a family. As you can see, a few of us did some treasure hunting of our own this year. 😂

Of course, Patti might have just as much fun putting together the Decks in a Day treasure. This year we went with a Backyard S’mores Basket filled with everything for a cozy night around the fire. 🔥

Congratulations to Dan, who found our treasure! We hope you enjoy it!

These North Muskegon decks got an update!

We love how beautifully the new decking and railing coordinate with this home. The warm TimberTech Reclaimed Chestnut paired with RDI Bronze all-aluminum railing looks like it was made for it!

A great update that gives these decks a fresh new look while keeping everything cohesive with the home.

Last week we rebuilt two decks on this home in Jenison, giving both spaces some much-needed updates.

The smaller side deck was reconfigured to make it a more functional space for grilling. Out back, we completely rebuilt the large upper deck, making it bigger, and added a full set of stairs for easy access to the backyard.

The result? Two safer, more functional outdoor spaces this family can enjoy for years to come!

We built Nathanael a new deck in Wyoming, complete with a full set of stairs so their dog can easily get down and enjoy that nice fenced-in backyard!

Such a practical addition that makes the deck, and the whole backyard, so much more usable.

Another pool is gone… and that called for a whole new deck!

This Zeeland homeowner was ready to reconfigure the space after taking down their pool. We removed the old setup and built a brand-new deck with a much more functional layout.

Dave decided it was time for the pool to go, and that called for a brand-new deck!

We removed the old pool deck and gave this Allendale backyard a fresh start with a new treated-lumber deck and black aluminum railing. The new layout gives them a great outdoor space without the pool and completely changes the look of the backyard.
