TREX DECK REMODEL🔨

Looking to upgrade your deck? Trex decking may be for you!

BCB recently took on a deck project. Our client wanted their wooden deck boards and railing to be replaced with trex decking and pvc railing. BCB removed the rotting decking, added additional blocking for the 4x4 posts, and also replaced the pvc drainage that had fallen apart for a downspout. Once demo was complete, joist tape was added to provide a moisture barrier. A light grey color was chosen for the trex decking for a close match of the original decking color. Hidden fasteners were used for insulation and pvc rail kits were then installed. Our client was very pleased with her new deck as well as happy to have little to no maintenance with her deck from now on.

TWO BEDROOM REMODEL🔨

Last summer, BCB finished a two bedroom remodel in a client’s home. Our client wanted to make the most of the unfinished storage space they had. Walls were framed, insulated, and electrical added for lights and outlets. Then drywall hung and finished as well as painted. This project presented opportunities to be creative with design features for storage. One room received a custom closet unit and bench seat. The closet unit has two soft close drawers and two cabinet doors, with adjustable shelves and a rod for hangers. The other room received two built-in closets with barn doors, a built-in desk, as well as a bench seat. Pocket doors were installed for both rooms to save space. Finally, carpet was laid in both rooms along with linoleum to match the hallway.

This was BCB’s first big project and was really thankful to have great clients throughout the process. Always enjoy getting projects to be creative as well as learn new skills.

BASEMENT REMODEL🪚

Not too long ago, BCB was subcontracted to install pine tongue and groove planks throughout a basement. Pine boards were stained with gunstock stain and finished with two coats of oil based polyurethane. Window trim, ledges, door trim, baseboard and other corner moldings were installed to match.

COMMERCIAL PAINT JOB

The past few weeks, BCB was at Harrisburg Area Community College Public Safety Center as a subcontractor to complete a list of painting items. Lots of work was completed out on the training grounds! On the burn building, the concrete roof, metal railings, ladders, staircase and a few doors were painted. Elsewhere on the grounds, the roof simulator, pump and multiple hydrants were sanded and painted as well.

Excited to have this working relationship with them and looking forward to continuing with their carpentry/painting needs in the future!

RESIDENTIAL TRIM JOB

Not too long ago, BCB was subcontracted by Reynolds Restoration to have trim throughout an older home installed. BCB installed window casing and sills, custom door casing, custom two piece baseboard, quarter round, chair rail, crown molding, custom stair trim, and other miscellaneous trim throughout this home. A local lumber yard was able to provide custom baseboard and door casing with rosette blocks and plinth blocks to match the style of the home. Due to the fact that this house was older, some challenges posed with not so level floors and with walls that weren’t plumb. Even with those challenges, solutions were made and the final result looks incredible!

DRYWALL IS IN!!

BCB recently finished the drywall portion of a two kids bedroom remodel! Prior to this stage, insulation was added to the walls, electrician came to install lights, switches and outlets, and an HVAC technician came to install air vents in the rooms.

Next steps is painting, baseboard and door casing, custom barn doors for the two closets, and a custom closet unit for in one of the rooms!

Very excited for the final outcome!

SHIPLAP CEILING

BCB recently had the opportunity to install shiplap on an entryway ceiling of a new residential build. This really brings a welcoming feel to this modern farmhouse!

GARAGE DOOR FACELIFT

BCB demoed the previous garage door trim that was starting to rot. Our client wanted new openings to be squared off. We installed new PVC trim and brick molding, along with a custom cross head and keystone to match the windows on the house! The garage door company came to replace the old doors with a more modern style door. I’ll say this turned out beautifully!
