Backfilling isn’t just dumping dirt back in a hole.

When soil is thrown back in all at once and left loose, it settles over time — and that settling can crack concrete, shift structures, and undo an otherwise solid project.

Proper backfilling means doing it in layers and compacting each lift so the ground regains its strength and stability.

That’s how you prevent:
❌ sinking areas
❌ uneven surfaces
❌ future repairs

If something settles later, it’s rarely bad luck.
It usually means a step was skipped.

Do it right while it’s open — because fixing it later costs more.

Not all dirt is created equal.

Clay holds water.

Sand drains fast.

Loam is the sweet spot.

I adjust every job based on the soil you actually have — not what you wish you had.
Dirt tells the truth every time.

A shallow, poorly shaped ditch doesn’t move water — it just holds it.

When a ditch is too narrow, too flat, or cut without the right slope, water slows down, pools, and eventually causes erosion, mud, or flooding where you don’t want it. It might look fine on a dry day, but the first heavy rain exposes the problem fast.

Proper ditch work is about shape and slope, not just digging a line in the ground.

I widen and slope ditches correctly so water can flow fast and clean, even during heavy rain. That means giving water enough room to move, guiding it where it belongs, and preventing it from backing up or washing things out.

Good drainage isn’t flashy.
It’s boring… until you don’t have it. 💦

Sun came out, so we put it to work.

Scraped the top layer off this garden area that was overrun with crab grass. Sometimes you’ve gotta strip it back before you can build it right.

Who else made the most of the weather yesterday?

What projects are you working on?

An excavation estimate isn’t a guess — it’s math, experience, and planning.

Accurate pricing starts long before the machine ever touches the ground. I factor in soil type, site access, slope, nearby structures, utilities, material disposal, and labor so the job can be done safely and correctly from the start.

I don’t just hand you a number — I explain what goes into your bid and why. That way you understand exactly what you’re paying for and can make an informed decision about the work being done on your property.

When details are skipped, an estimate might look cheaper upfront — but that’s usually where problems begin. Unexpected conditions, rushed work, and added costs can turn a “good deal” into an expensive headache.

A solid estimate sets expectations, protects your property, and prevents surprises.

Cheap estimates often get expensive later.
Transparent ones don’t.

Your yard should be usable, not a collection of dips, bumps, and ankle-twisters.

Uneven ground isn’t just annoying — it makes mowing harder, causes poor drainage, and limits what you can actually do with your space. Most of the time, those problem areas come from uneven settling, poor grading, or rushed prep.

Regrading isn’t about dumping dirt and hoping for the best. It’s about shaping the land correctly.

I regrade by:
✔️ shaving down high spots
✔️ filling and blending low areas
✔️ shaping the surface to drain properly

The result is a smooth, clean base that’s ready for:
✔️ Grass seed
✔️ Landscaping
✔️ Patios
✔️ Sheds
✔️ Future projects

When the ground is flat and graded correctly, everything that comes after is easier — mowing, planting, building, and maintaining. No scalping the lawn. No standing water. No fighting your equipment.

A well-prepped yard doesn’t just look better — it works better.

Because a flat yard is easier on your mower… and a lot easier on you.
