🍂 Happy first day of fall!

The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting cooler, and we’re all starting to spend a little more time indoors.

Before fall gets into full swing, it’s a good time to give a few things around your home a quick check:

💡 Exterior lighting: Make sure your porch, driveway, and walkway lights are ready for those earlier sunsets.

🔌 Outdoor outlets: Take a look at outlets and covers around the outside of your home. If anything looks cracked, loose, or damaged, it’s worth getting it checked.

🔥 Heating equipment: When you turn the heat on for the first time, pay attention to anything unusual, like flickering lights or breakers that trip when the system kicks on.

🏠 Indoor lighting: Check those lights you’ll be using more often as the days get shorter. If a fixture is flickering or acting up, don’t ignore it.

A little fall maintenance now can help keep things running smoothly as we head into the colder months.

We’re already halfway through September! 🍂 Did you know September is National Preparedness Month?

It’s a good reminder to think about what you’d do if the power went out tomorrow. ⚡

If you have a generator, now is a great time to make sure it’s ready before you actually need it. Check that it starts properly and that your transfer switch or other connection equipment is installed correctly.

It’s also worth knowing where your electrical panel is and which breakers control the important areas of your home.

And if you’ve been putting off an electrical issue, like frequent breaker trips, flickering lights, or an outlet that isn’t working properly, don’t wait until it becomes an emergency.

A little preparation now can make a big difference when the unexpected happens.
