Being a fourth-generation, family-owned company is something we're incredibly proud of!

That also means we have a workplace built on relationships, tradition, and people who truly care about one another.

So, of course, we had to ask our team: What's it like working for a family-owned company?

Last week, The Tribute Companies was proud to celebrate a major milestone with the groundbreaking of The Gallery of Serenity at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau, Wisconsin.

This exciting addition will expand memorialization opportunities for families by offering beautiful indoor and outdoor cremation options designed to honor loved ones for generations to come.

A heartfelt thank you to the for hosting the ceremony and to everyone who joined us to celebrate the beginning of this project. We look forward to sharing updates as construction (led by our Tribute Architectural team) progresses and watching this vision become a reality!

It's been a fantastic convention filled with great conversations, reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new friends, talking all things precast and burial vaults, and enjoying the Field Day activities.

Before you head out, be sure to stop by and leave your mark by signing one of our memorials. We'd love to see you before the final day comes to a close!

The Best Time to Plan for a Cemetery’s Future Is Before You Need To

Cemeteries are inherently long-term organizations. The decisions made today about land, inventory, infrastructure and operations can affect families and communities for generations.

Yet too often, long-term planning begins only when a cemetery encounters an immediate need: inventory is running low, cremation demand has changed the sales mix, a maintenance facility is no longer adequate, or an aging section needs to be redeveloped.

The strongest cemetery operators take a different approach.

They look at the cemetery as a living, evolving property and continually ask: What will our families need 10, 20 or even 50 years from now?

That means understanding how existing land can be used more effectively. It means developing in phases rather than simply filling available space. It means creating a thoughtful mix of traditional burial, cremation gardens, columbaria, mausoleums and other memorialization options. And it means considering the operational infrastructure required to maintain those spaces long after they are developed.

Just as importantly, good planning must balance service with financial sustainability. A beautiful development that is difficult to maintain or does not create appropriate inventory can become a burden. A financially efficient development that fails to create a meaningful environment for families misses the larger purpose of the cemetery.

The goal should be both.

At The Tribute Companies, our perspective comes from more than designing or supplying cemeteries. Four generations of cemetery experience, including operating our own properties, have taught us that successful cemetery planning requires design, operations, maintenance, sales and financial considerations to work together.

The cemetery profession has always been about caring for generations. Our planning should operate on the same timeline.
