Living in a wooded area means beautiful views, fresh air… and plenty of bugs. 🌲🦟

A screened porch gives you the best of both worlds—enjoy the outdoors, the breeze, and the peaceful setting without constantly swatting mosquitoes and other unwanted guests.

And if you already have a covered porch, screening it in usually isn’t an excessive added cost.

Fresh air in. Bugs out. Definitely an upgrade worth considering.

What most builders won’t tell you 👀

A brand-new home can actually have a higher moisture content than an older one—and that’s completely normal.

Between concrete, drywall mud, paint, lumber, and other building materials, a lot of moisture gets introduced during construction. As the home dries out, some materials can shrink slightly, which is why doors may need to be readjusted as the house settles.

It’s a normal part of a new home drying out and adjusting over time. 🏠

❌Slope - how much grading is required for your build?
❌Rocks - any rocks on site that need to be removed?

Barndominiums have a reputation for being the “cheaper” way to build—but in our area, that’s usually not the case.

Once you factor in local labor costs, site work, insulation, utilities, interior finishes, and the structural requirements needed to meet local building codes, the savings can disappear pretty quickly.

They can still be a great option if you love the look and layout, but don’t choose a barndominium assuming it will automatically cost less than a traditional home.

Build for what works best for your property, your budget, and the way you actually want to live.
