10 Years of the Finksburg Asphalt Plant!

Ten years ago, C.J. Miller celebrated the opening of our Finksburg asphalt plant — a major milestone that helped shape the next chapter of our company.

Since 2016, this plant has been at the heart of countless projects, supplying quality asphalt for roads and communities throughout our area and supporting the people who make those projects happen every day.

What started as a new investment 10 years ago has become an important part of the C.J. Miller family and our continued growth.

Here’s to 10 years of hard work, good roads, great people, and plenty of asphalt!

Thank you to everyone who has helped make the Finksburg plant what it is today. We’re proud to look back on where we started and even more excited for what’s ahead!

Thank you to our incredible interns Parker (IT) , Bella (Estimating) , Matthew (Estimating) , and Ryan ( Project Management) this summer ! We are so proud to have helped them gain some real life experience while also hopefully learning a few things. We wish them the best in their future endeavors and back to school! Thanks for being a part of the CJM team this summer!

Another touch a truck at the fair has come and gone ! We love to see all the happy kids to be dressed up like construction workers. Can’t miss them in these vests anyway haha.

🎓 Congratulations to John “Scottie” Ford!

C.J. Miller is proud to support the next generation of the construction industry through the Buck Miller Scholarship, awarded through the Associated Utility Contractors of Maryland (AUC).

This year’s recipient, John “Scottie” Ford, is the son of a Ferguson Trenching employee. Scottie is pictured here receiving his scholarship certificate from Bruce Bergeron at the AUC’s June meeting.

We’re proud to invest in students like Scottie and wish him all the best in his education and future career! 👏🎓

Celebrating 25 Years at C.J. Miller!

Today we’re recognizing three outstanding employees who are celebrating 25 years with C.J. Miller. Thank you, Gene, Diego, and Max, for your dedication, hard work, and commitment over the years!

Gene joined C.J. Miller with 13 years of construction experience and was hired as an Excavation Foreman. Over the past 25 years, he has become one of the most versatile employees in the company. Whether it’s grading, laying pipe, paving, concrete work, or operating just about any piece of equipment we own, Gene is someone we can always count on. He’s also known for keeping the jobsite fun by joking around with his fellow coworkers.

Diego came to C.J. Miller with concrete experience and spent many years working on the bio crew under the legendary pond builder, Delmar Hale. Through his dedication and hard work, he earned his way into an excavator and has become a highly skilled operator. He also mastered the construction of bio ponds, an important part of soil conservation. His experience, positive attitude, and smile make him a valued member of the team.

Max also joined C.J. Miller with concrete experience before moving to a paving crew, where he quickly proved himself as an outstanding laborer. Over the years, he has grown into a Paving Foreman and has become especially strong on State Highway projects. His leadership, strong work ethic, and background as a laborer have helped him build strong rapport with his crew and earn the respect of his coworkers.

Congratulations, Gene, Diego, and Max on this incredible milestone, and thank you for 25 years of helping make C.J. Miller what it is today!
