BIG shoutout to CB Towing in Gunnison, CO! 🤘🔥
Back in May, we took the Jeep up the One Mile Trail and made it a few miles in before stopping to get out and enjoy the scenery. When we got back in and fired it up, a HUGE cloud of smoke came pouring out from under the hood. 🤦♂️
I shut it down, popped the hood, and found the coolant reservoir had completely split at the seam. Not exactly where you want to break down. 😂
To make matters worse, we were sitting on a steep-ass incline and couldn't even get the Jeep into gear or neutral. Even after hooking the Jeep from the rear and trying to relieve enough tension to get it into neutral, we still couldn't get it to release. We eventually had to use the manual transmission release just to get the Jeep into neutral.
We had called another local off-road recovery company first. They said they'd call us back and let us know what they could do. Luckily, we didn't wait around because they never called back.
We then called CB Towing, and within about an hour they had someone headed up the mountain in probably the most capable C10 I've ever seen. That thing was an absolute beast.
They got us safely off the mountain and back to pavement, then went back to town, grabbed the flatbed, and hauled the Jeep all the way back to our Airbnb.
The owner is a huge off-road and rock-crawling guy himself, so these guys actually understand what they're dealing with when you call from the middle of nowhere with a broken rig.
They answered. They showed up. They had the equipment. And they got us home.
If you're anywhere around Gunnison and need towing, off-road recovery, or someone who actually knows how to get a rig out of a bad situation, I can't recommend CB Towing enough. These are the guys I'd call first, and they're the guys I'd recommend to anybody I know.
Thanks again, CB Towing! Keep on keeping on. 🤘🔥
