As the state prepares for possible winter weather, here are some tips to protect your home from dangerously cold temperatures:
🏠Keep your home at a minimum of 55°.
🪟 Caulk and weather strip doors and windows.
💧 Remove the garden hose and wrap exposed faucets.
🔥 Never leave a candle burning unattended.
☄️Open kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors to circulate warm air around the plumbing, especially if your sinks are on an exterior wall.
🚰Let cold water drip from faucets to prevent pipes from freezing.
♨️ Install a smoke alarm and be sure the batteries are working.
❗️ Have your chimney inspected
