A heartfelt thank-you to our GNN members, friends, and neighbors whose generosity helped raise $2,717 for Guilford Public Schools to assist local students and families with school meal costs.
Special thanks to our Philanthropic Chair, Maria Calamito, for helping lead the effort, and The Guilford Foundation for partnering with us, providing matching funds, and helping extend the campaign’s reach.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who donated. This is a wonderful example of neighbors coming together to meet a real need in our community—and exactly the kind of civic involvement GNN is proud to support. ❤️
Guilford Newcomers & Neighbors and TGF recently presented $2,717 to Guilford Public Schools to help local students and families who need assistance paying for school meals.
While government programs provide free or reduced-price meals to eligible students, not every family experiencing financial hardship qualifies. This funding helps fill that gap, ensuring that students have access to the meals they need during the school day.
The $2,717 was made possible through donations from GNN members and the broader community, along with matching support from both GNN and TGF.
We were pleased to present the check to Superintendent Dr. Paul Freeman and Director of Dining Services Janet Calabro and, most importantly, to help meet a very real need for Guilford families.
A great example of neighbors helping neighbors.
