💧 What happens underneath your deck matters, too.

On this build, we installed a Trex RainEscape waterproofing system before the decking went down. RainEscape catches water between the joists and directs it away through a gutter system—keeping the space underneath the deck dry and usable.

For second-story decks, this is one of our favorite upgrades. It protects the framing while opening up the space below for a covered patio, outdoor living area, storage, or even a future finished ceiling.
