Bermuda and Zoysia Spring Lawn Care Tip 🌱

With warmer temperatures coming, you may notice some green up in your lawn. To accelerate the green up, you can (and should) scalp your lawn. Lower the height of cut on your mower to remove the dormant grass and expose new, green growth.

Why scalp?

✅ Removes Dormant Grass – Clears out old, brown grass to make way for fresh green growth.
✅ Warms the Soil Faster – Encourages earlier green-up by allowing sunlight to reach the soil.
✅ Reduces Thatch Buildup – Helps prevent disease and improves air circulation.
✅ Boosts Growth & Health – Promotes a thicker, healthier lawn all season long.

You can either bag your clippings after you scalp, or you can leave them on the lawn as your lawn CAN benefit from the break down of organic material. Clippings can also be utilized as compost.
