Dovetail Construction

We build a lot of things at Dovetail Construction, but the relationships behind the work are what actually hold everything together.

🚤 Team Lake Day was the perfect way to close out summer, spent out at Lake Cherokee in Tamassee.

Good sun, good people, and the best part: kids and families along for the ride.🌊

One of our favorite parts of what we do isn't just bringing the vision to life. It's experiencing that vision firsthand once the doors open. 🥂

Earlier this summer, we were deep in the drywall and studs with the team, dreaming about what Enlo would become. Walking into the finished space at the soft opening, seeing it all realized, was surreal.

From the atmosphere to the level of service to the food, every detail is intentional. After working closely with and the team, we are proud of the results.

Greenville is in for something special. 10/10 would recommend booking a reservation at one-of-a-kind destination.

Welcoming Matt Bello to the team as our new Senior Preconstruction Manager! 🎉

Matt brings 15 years of construction experience to Dovetail, with a foundation built at Melloul Blamey Construction and years leading early-stage development at Brasfield & Gorrie's Greenville office. A Georgia native turned Greenville local, he's known for building real relationships with trade partners, design teams, and clients from day one, setting every project up for success before the first shovel hits the ground.

Outside the office, you'll find Matt in Simpsonville with his wife Larkin, daughter Emory, and dog Praline, or out golfing and enjoying the outdoors.

Welcome to the team, Matt!

Some days on a job site feel like a history lesson. ⛏️

We're currently excavating on Main St for Emily's Table, tapping into the water main to install a new, larger tap and meter that'll serve the restaurant. But a few feet down, we hit something we weren't expecting: old railroad tracks that used to run right through downtown Greenville.

It's easy to forget that Main St wasn't always the shops, restaurants, and sidewalks we know today. Decades ago, trolleys ran through the heart of it, part of the rail lines that helped build this city into what it is now. Uncovering that history while building something new for a local business feels like exactly what we love about this work: connecting Greenville's past to its future, one project at a time.

Does anyone have firsthand knowledge or memories of these old railroad tracks running through downtown? We'd love to hear the stories. 🚂

We hear it from clients over and over: communication sets us apart.

Excellent client communication starts from within.

The way we communicate with each other during internal meetings, on the job site, and between trades sets the tone for how we serve every client. That same energy flows naturally into every partnership we build. 🔨

A look inside our Crescent One project off Poinsett Highway in Greenville! 🔨

Taking a historic building and transforming it into modern commercial office spaces for growing teams like Launchpad and Deck Creations takes equal parts grit and intentional craftsmanship.

From navigating historic preservation guidelines and custom-matching 1940s glazed porcelain brick, to repurposing original solid wood doors for office entries and reception desks, we love finding ways to honor a building's history while upgrading it with modern mechanicals, lighting, and finishes. We're proud to see these suites ready for Upstate businesses to thrive! 🏢
