Ice dams aren’t something we have to deal with often in the Upstate, but this is one of those times that we do. The melting of snow and refreezing along your eaves creates a situation where water actually runs back up under your shingles and causes leaks.

Ever wonder, “Why are all of my neighbors getting a new roof put on? Did they really pay $8,000-$15,000 to do that? Why would they spend that kind of money?”

No, they didn’t.

There’s a 95% chance your neighbor had storm damage from a recent hail and wind event and their insurance company paid for a full replacement to protect the investment (your house).

Your neighbor was only responsible for his or her deductible amount, not a penny more.

Also, did you know you only have two years from the date of the storm to file with insurance? Insurance companies are not going to come to you to initiate a claim, that’s what I’m here for.
