Project #3
I’ve been working on this project for the past 2 mos. and it’s just now beginning to take shape. This project has required additional beams installed to lift up a sagging original deck/dining room as well as posts being removed to allow access below screened porch. In addition partition walls were added to conceal the many posts that were previously added to support the 2-story additions. Existing patio structure was removed and a new structural deck is being framed. We will be installing a waterproof membrane below a concrete tile deck system. Follow to see the finished product.

Beautiful day in South Carolina, mild 60 degrees ahhh!
Check out my new digs…lol New jobsite and it’s an incredible job and view everyday.
Oh, in case you’re wondering about the turtle he’s replaced “Bear” my foreman…actually rescued from the street, didn’t want him to get hit.

Ahhh! Finito….through wind, rain, sleet and even snow. And of course product delay, search and waiting for delivery. This project which I’m very proud of has gone the gamut for issues.
Here it is; the before and yes, the finished product….short of some patio furniture and a party.

Last week, work was rough, had to dig myself out of a snow and ice storm (lol) just to be able to work. Was able to get the steps done and edge band in place. But next week looks promising 70 degree weather (predicted) and we will begin installing the Trex Decking on this project.

Project #3: Fireplace refurbish is done, finished, finito!!! There’s more to this job than just a pretty face. It had to be reconstructed from the inside out due to water damage from the roof and carpenter bees from the exterior. But now sho has a bold new look complimenting my clients character and love for modern design.

When I started this job, the trees were green and the site was empty. Today I looked at the trees and although they appear dead my thought was God is preparing them for Spring they are not dead but teaming with life that will erupt again in the spring.
This job has gone long, it started out to be a complicated deck job and evolved to be a full blown interior remodel, and a deck job. I consider myself fortunate to have great clients and alot of work. It’s hard to work in the midst of winter but doing so will give my client a beautiful deck which she can enjoy in the Spring.

Project #3: last footing poured this AM, 6 - 80 # bags per footing at 4 of them and 3 - 80 # bags at 3 of them. Yes, 35 bags in all and a lot of heavy lifting, grunting and Adrenaline…lol.
Ready in 3 days to frame remaining portion of deck. Phase 1 of deck framing complete and ready for decking which arrived today. Let’s get to WORK!

My view today at the construction site. Ahhh! 78 degrees, fall colors and pouring footings and then this walks by…beauty.
