What a pretty collection for today. I'm so happy to see that the orphington's are laying speckled eggs. That's exciting. And all of my Easter Eggers lay shades of blue and green which is also fantastic. I'm not sure if I'll be able to wait till spring to start hatching out some of these groups because they're going to be so much fun.

This is my winter setup for the chickens. They seem to be enjoying it here since they were moved a few weeks ago.

Levi is such a good boy. He chased off a hawk yesterday and today he's just watching.

Meet the Buckeye flock!

🍁 Meet the ultimate, tough-as-nails homestead breed! 🍁
Looking for a dual-purpose chicken that loves the cold, hunts down bugs, and stays incredibly calm? Our Buckeyes are the heavy-duty heritage breed your coop needs!
Here is why this remarkable breed stands out:
✨ Rich Mahogany Plumage: A beautiful, solid dark-reddish-brown coat with a black-tipped tail that looks stunning against green grass or white snow.
🏆 The Only Breed Created by a Woman: A proud American heritage breed originally bred by Nettie Metcalf in Ohio to be the perfect all-weather chicken.
❄️ Built for Freezing Weather: Their heavy bodies and tiny pea combs make them practically immune to winter frostbite—they keep laying when others stop!
❤️ Incredibly Docile & Curious: Known for a calm, friendly, and bold personality. They love following you around the yard and are fantastic with families.
🐛 Mousers & Foragers: Renowned for their high energy when it comes to chasing bugs, ticks, and even mice—making them elite free-rangers.
Robust, cold-hardy, and excellent layers of large, medium-brown eggs! 🏡✨

Meet the flock! Easter Egger chicks and eggs available spring. I switched birds around this year just to bring a little fun into my Easter Egger flock.

Here is why you will love this unique mix:
✨ Wild Feather Variety: Chicks have the chance to inherit beautiful smooth coats, incredibly fluffy Silkie feathering, or crazy, curly Frizzle feathers!
👑 Adorable Features: Expect to see cute "muffs" (beards) and miniature crests passed down from the parents.
🎨 Mystery Rainbow Basket: They are highly reliable layers that will add beautiful shades of blue, green, sage, or tinted cream eggs to your daily collection.
❤️ Ultra-Friendly Temp: The gentle, lap-chicken nature of the Silkie combined with the curious, sweet personality of the Easter Egger makes these perfect for kids.
💪 Super Hardy: Healthy, robust backyard birds with excellent hybrid vigor.
You never know exactly what unique combination of fluff, curls, and egg color you'll get—and that is the best part! 🏡✨
