She designed this original stitch for her new granddaughter Wren. It’s so beautiful! She didn’t want it to be too large, so it would always have a place in her life no matter the spaces available in the future. We went with a natural wood frame with a pretty carved pattern making it gentle and feminine for a little girl. Such a personal gift from grandma.

This is a lovely little print. She always chooses light toned frames and mats when framing her art, so peaceful and clean. There are other ways we could have gone, brought out the depth with the black for example, but that’s what custom framing means, you get what you want with many options to choose from. This beautiful hardanger was stitched by a member of our Embroiders Guild of America, after her passing it was given to the guild to be put in the silent auction at our bi-annual show. The woman who won the bidding was so happy and wanted to preserve this exceptional work. It’s a large piece so we kept the framing subtle with a single fabric mat below, museum glass and narrow carved frame. I stitched the art to the mat fully around the perimeter, allowing for future removal if desired.

This is from many years ago, but I wanted to share again. My customer traveled all over the world and always brought back art as a memory of her adventures. This young woman was in Australia on New Year’s Eve and saw the fireworks in person! She bought this small print as a memory of that night. We kept it simple but chose a shimmery frame to mimic the sparkle of the fireworks. This will be a forever memory.
