Proud to represent Sawtooth Construction for our second year serving on the RVHS Construction Pathway Advisory Board! 🔨📐
We attended the Fall Advisory Board meeting last night, and it’s always inspiring to collaborate with local educators, leaders, and fellow trades professionals dedicated to building real opportunities for the next generation.
Our focus for the evening centered around bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world job site expectations:
▫️Aligning Skills with the Industry: Ensuring students develop both the technical trades skills and durable professional habits needed to thrive in construction today.
▫️Pathway & State Updates: Reviewing evolving state guidelines and expanding opportunities within the Geometry in Construction (GIC) curriculum.
▫️Work-Based Learning: Brainstorming hands-on pathways like site tours, job shadowing, design challenges, and student internships.
▫️Community & Trade Support: Finding tangible ways our local business community can step in to support the program’s math and hands-on shop needs.
➡️ How Our Community Can Help This School Year:
Building a strong trades foundation takes a village, and the RVHS program is currently looking for support to keep their shop running at full speed. If your business or household has resources to spare, they are currently in need of:
🪵 Materials: 2x4 framing lumber and any unused build materials you have laying around
🛠️ Tool Support: Home Depot gift cards to help replace worn-out power tools (donations are tax-deductible!)
ℹ️ Pneumatics: A 6-gallon pancake compressor, air hoses, or mechanical know-how to help service an existing 20-gallon compressor.
Investing in vocational education means investing in the future of our local trades and community. If you’d like to donate materials, support the program, or get involved, reach out—we’d love to connect you! 🤝🏗️
