This was a big job, especially for a system that I had never installed before. The main garage had a failing floor from another installer, so we came in to remove it and recoat over 1500 square feet of floor.
It started out great, and then it felt like everything that could go wrong did. We ran out of material, had to move jobs around on the schedule, found out the color wasn’t in stock, ended up making our own custom blend, and spent a lot of time figuring out the best way to prep these floors. Mica is also way dustier than typical vinyl flake, so there was a lot more masking and cleanup.
It wasn’t the easiest project we’ve done, but I wouldn’t change it. Every challenge taught us something, and we’ll be that much better on the next one.
The best part was hearing the customer tell us they had a better experience with us than they did with the company that installed the original floor.
At the end of the day, we’re just trying to do things the right way. Keep the jobsite clean, communicate with our customers, stand behind our work, and make sure people are happy when we leave.
