“Why would you paint over that beautiful wood?” “You’re ruining it!”

Three years into doing this, and we’ve heard it all!

But there’s something interesting to consider.

The EPA reported that more than 12 million tons of furniture and furnishings entered the U.S. waste stream in 2018, with nearly 9.7 million tons ending up in landfills. Wood was the largest material category in furniture.

Painting a piece that someone no longer wants and giving it a fresh look means that piece gets to stay in someone’s home instead of ending up in a landfill. ♻️

If paint is what keeps furniture from becoming waste, we’ll keep paintmaxxing. 🎨
