For the afternoon session today-two of us measured and split a 4โ€™X3โ€™ landing and some nice stairs out of this massive 11 ft L X 7.5 ft W X 7-8 in thick slab of Oak Hill Granite. The landing and two stairs will go to a project we will start this week on the entry of a 1750s house, and the rest of the stairs will be trucked to our ongoing oceanside path project. Thank you to JC Stone Inc for the granite and to Geoff Quonset Hardscape for some rock solid offloading

Splitting stair slabs to length, kerffing out ledge, and starting on our run of stone. Quite a beautiful path to be building!

Finished this large orchard fence renovation today. 32 posts poured with new concrete footings, native Maine white cedar 6x6 post, 2x6 top plates, and 2x4 framing. We built the gates today and our clients love it!

Finished building this beauty today just as the rain started gently falling. It then picked up a bit and watered in the grass seed we spread to re-establish the lawn. This wall is for a dear client who, as an art collector, appreciates the fine details in art.
In proper fashion we made sure to deliver her a timeless piece here with this free standing double faced wall.
We put the base stones in around November, and Worked on this over the winter. I tried to pick our days for decent weather, but, this wall wins the prize for coldest project of the year! I think it was 11 degrees that day, and the wind was directly off the water all day. Brutal, cutting cold with no cover anywhere. We pushed through lunch, toughing it out but when the prospect of calling it good was brought up around 2 pm, the three on the wall that day agreed we had done enough work to warrant the trip. We picked our days more carefully after that day, paying extra attention to wind direction and speed.

Began the carpentry side of renovating this fence for our clients orchard today, after digging/pouring out 32 holes and leveling special raised post anchors. We will be completely re-doing this fence, including gates, all in native Maine cedar, milled up north.
We upgraded the original design and changed the posts to 6x6โ€™s, like shown.
Stay tuned to see a super nice fence once weโ€™re done building it!

Took the time today to take care of a special task for a client- carving this stone and inlaying the brass plaque to remember a special relative that has passed. The stone will be dug in under a young peach tree.
