🔨🌙 THROWWWWDOWN THURSDAY — AFTER-HOURS EDITION! 🌙🔨

WELLLLL, Y’ALL… THAT’S A WRAP!!! 😎🤙🏼

The sun has gone down, the coffee has worn off, and somewhere in this house, a tape measure is still missing. 😂📏

It’s been another day of work, plans, and probably a few moments where we looked at something and said…

“Well… THAT’S gonna be tomorrow’s problem.” 🤣🤣🤣

And honestly? Sometimes that’s the smartest decision you can make!

Because here’s a little Thursday night wisdom:

🔨 The tools aren’t going anywhere.
🏡 The house will still need work.
❤️ But the people we’re building all this for? They’re worth slowing down for.

So tonight, we’re calling it.

The tools are down.
The project can wait.
The Queen deserves some quality time. 🥰❤️

And Shoeshine Duck?

Well, he claims he’s working overtime…

But we caught him asleep on the workbench. 🦆💤😂

🔨🏡 WEWD WISDOM WEDNESDAY — HOME REMODEL EDITION! 🏡🔨

GOOOOOOOD MORNING, Y’ALL!!! 😎🤙🏼☕️

The Queen and I have eaten breakfast, fueled up, and reported for duty!

THE MISSION: GET. THAT. TILE. LAID.

And if all goes according to plan, we’re one step closer to finishing up the front room — YES, THE SAME ROOM WITH ALL THAT BEAUTIFUL SHIPLAP! 😍

Today’s wisdom comes from a good bit woodworking experience and a growing understanding of home renovation:

📏 Measure twice.
🔨 Cut once.
👀 Stare at it for a minute.
🤔 Question your measurements.
📏 Measure AGAIN.
😂 Ask the Queen what she thinks.
❤️ Realize she’s probably right.

REPEAT AS NECESSARY. 🤣

Because remodeling a house with your favorite person is a beautiful thing…

…until one of you says, “While we’re at it, we should probably…” 😳

THAT PHRASE HAS NEVER ONCE LED TO A SMALL PROJECT. 😭

But here’s the real wisdom for today:

A home doesn’t come together all at once. It comes together one piece at a time.

One tile. One board. One decision. One day of hard work.

And if a few things don’t go exactly as planned? Well, that’s what makes the story interesting!

So we’re grabbing the tools, rolling up our sleeves, and getting after it!

Pray for our knees, y’all. We’ll be on them all day. 🤣🙏🏼

THE SHIPLAP IS UP. THE TILE IS NEXT. AND THIS FRONT ROOM AIN’T GONNA FINISH ITSELF! 🏡🔥

☕️🪵 MONDAY MILLIN’ 🪵☕️

Everybody sees the finished project.

The sign hanging on the building.
The furniture sitting in somebody’s home.
The walls coming together.
The beautiful grain in a freshly milled board.

But they don’t always see what goes into it.

The early mornings.
The long days.
The mistakes you have to fix.
The money you reinvest.
The plans that change halfway through.
The people standing beside you when the work gets tough.

And that got me thinking this morning…

I’m not just trying to build things. I’m trying to build something that matters.

A business built on trust.
A home built with my Queen.
Relationships built on showing up.
And a life where the work of my hands reflects the goodness of God. ❤️🙏🏼

Will there be sawdust? HECK YEAH. 😂

Will there be days when nothing goes according to plan? You better believe it.

But every board, every project, every little bit of progress is another opportunity to do something meaningful.

So this Monday, I’m not just asking, “What am I going to build?”

I’m asking…

“What am I building all this FOR?”

Because the goal isn’t just to finish more projects.

It’s to build a life worth looking back on with gratitude.

Now THAT’S worth getting up for.

🌾🙏🏼 GRAIN & GRACE SUNDAY 🙏🏼🌾

BUILDING MORE THAN WALLS 🏡❤️

Good mornin’, y’all!!! ☕️😎🤙🏼

This morning, I wanted to share a little glimpse of what the Queen and I have been up to! 🥰

We’ve been laying shiplap, making progress on the house, and slowly watching this space transform into something we’ve envisioned together.

One board at a time.
One project at a time.
One little victory at a time. 🪵🔨

And let me tell ya… seeing those boards go up is satisfying! 😍

But as I stood back and looked at what we’ve accomplished, I was reminded of something:

A house is built with our hands, but a home is built with our hearts. ❤️

It’s the time we invest.
The memories we make.
The work we share.
The love we put into the little things nobody else may ever notice.

And sometimes, the blessing isn’t just seeing the finished product…

It’s getting to build it alongside the person you love. 🥹❤️

Ecclesiastes 4:9 reminds us that “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.” 🙏🏼

I’d say that’s pretty fitting for a weekend spent working alongside my Queen!

We’re nowhere near finished, and there’s plenty more work ahead. But today, I’m thankful for the hands that help me, the home we’re building, and the God who gives us the strength and opportunity to do it.

Because the best things in life aren’t always built quickly.

Sometimes they’re built slowly, with a little sweat, a lot of love, and grace for every step along the way. ❤️

🪚🏡 SAWDUST SATURDAY — HOME REMODEL EDITION! 🏡🪚 “The couple that remodels together… eventually argues over where the tape measure went together”. 🤣

GOOOOOOOD MORNING, Y’ALL!!! ☕️

The coffee is brewing, the tools are coming out, and the Queen and I are about to make some MORE progress on this ol’ homestead! ❤️🔨

That’s right… we’re trading the customer projects for a little HOME SWEET HOME-WORKIN’!

Today’s agenda:

🔨 Tear into something we probably should’ve finished yesterday. 👀
📏 Measure approximately 47 times.
🪚 Make some cuts and hope we remembered the measurements. 🤣
🧹 Create a mess that somehow takes longer to clean up than the actual project.
❤️ Work side by side with my favorite person in the world.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, we’ll probably look at each other and say…

“Wellllll… since we’re already working on this, we might as well do THAT, too!” 🤣🤣🤣

FAMOUS LAST WORDS, AM I RIGHT?! 😳😂

But honestly, there’s something special about building a home together. It’s not just about the shiplap, the sawdust, or checking another project off the list.

It’s about the memories we’re making along the way. ❤️

So here we go! Another Saturday, another project, and another opportunity to make this house a little more OURS.

LET THE HOME REMODEL SHENANIGANS BEGIN!!! 🔥🏡

And y’all say a little prayer for the Queen… she’s gotta put up with ME AND MY POWER TOOLS ALL DAY. 🙏🏼🤣

I don’t know what kind of week YOU’VE had, but around here…

THINGS ARE GOOOOOOD!!! 🙌🏼🔥

The wewd is wewdin’!
The tools are toolin’!
The coffee is… well, it’s probably cold by now. ☕️😂
And somehow, someway, we’re making it all work!

Now, have there been a few moments this week where I’ve stared at a project and questioned every life decision that led me to that exact moment?

YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT. 🤣

Have I had to improvise? Yep.

Have I had to rethink a few things? Absolutely.

Have I occasionally stood there holding a piece of wewd, hoping the answer would magically appear?

…We don’t talk about that. 👀

BUT HERE’S THE THING…

Sometimes you just gotta take a step back, appreciate how far you’ve come, and realize you’ve got a whole lot to be thankful for. ❤️

Good work. Good people. A little sawdust. A whole lotta grace.

And a Queen who makes life sweeter than a fresh-cut board makes a woodworker happy. 🥰

So tonight, we’re throwing down a little gratitude and calling it a WIN!

DON’T FIGHT THE GRAIN.

Anybody who’s worked with wewd for a while knows…

Sometimes you can have a perfectly good plan.

You can measure it.
Mark it.
Cut it.
Sand it.

And the wewd looks back at you and says:

“Nah.” 😂

The grain wants to go THIS way.

You want it to go THAT way.

And if you fight it hard enough…

Well…

You’re gonna find out who’s stronger. 😳

Life can be a lot like that.

Sometimes we get so determined to make things happen the way WE think they should happen that we forget there’s a Carpenter who can see the whole picture.

We see the board.

He sees the finished piece.

We see the knot.

He sees the character.

We see the crooked grain.

He knows exactly where it belongs.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
— Proverbs 3:5 ✝️

So maybe the lesson today is simple:

Don’t fight the grain.

Trust the Carpenter.

Follow where He leads.

And when the plan doesn’t go the way you expected…

Take a breath, step back, and remember:

The Carpenter isn’t finished yet. ❤️🙏🏼

Wellllllll… after customer orders, Queen projects, shiplap, and a Saturday spent serving with the church youth group…

IT’S MONDAY. 😳

And you know what that means…

TIME TO MAKE SOME SAWDUST!!! 😂🪵💨

There’s something about walking back into the shop on Monday morning, firing up the coffee, looking at a pile of wewd, and realizing:

“Yep… we get to do this again.” 😎

New week.
New projects.
New opportunities.
New sawdust in places it has absolutely no business being. 🤣

And thanks to my Queen, I’ve also got a brand-new weapon in the shop arsenal… 👀⚙️

That DEWALT planer is sitting there looking at me like:

“Well? You gonna run some wewd through me or just stare at me all day?” 😂😂😂

So let’s get after it!

🌾🙏🏼 GRAIN & GRACE SUNDAY 🙏🏼🌾

ONE BUSY WEEK. A WHOLE LOTTA GRACE.

WHEW. 😮‍💨

If I’m being honest, this week has been a DOOZY.

It started with fulfilling customer orders… 🪵🔨
Then working on a special project for my Queen… ❤️
Then laying shiplap with my Queen… 👑🪵
And yesterday, I got to finish the week alongside our Youth Group from church, helping clean up a local business property. 🙏🏼🙌🏼

Different jobs.
Different places.
Different people.

But looking back at it this morning, I see something that tied the whole week together:

PURPOSE.

God gave me opportunities to create, provide, serve, work alongside my Queen, and pour a little sweat into something bigger than myself.

And that’s something I never want to take for granted.

Because sometimes we think God is only working when something BIG happens.

But maybe He’s working just as much in the ordinary stuff:

A customer trusting you with their order.
A husband and wife working side-by-side.
A wall getting covered in shiplap.
A group of young people showing up on a Saturday to serve somebody else.

That’s where the grain meets the grace. ❤️

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…”
— Colossians 3:23 ✝️

This week wore me out.

But it also filled me up.

And on this Sunday, I’m not asking for a slower week.

I’m just asking God to keep giving me something worth working for, someone worth working alongside, and opportunities to serve when He puts them in front of me.

Because the work may change from day to day…

…but the One we’re working for never does. 🙏🏼❤️

The grain tells the story.
The work gives us purpose.
And grace gives us the strength to keep going.
