If you’re looking at an older pool and wondering what it would cost to bring it back to life, the frustrating answer is: it depends quite a bit on what’s actually wrong with it.
In DFW, a full pool renovation can roughly range from $15,000 to $60,000+, but that could include very different things from one pool to another.
A pool that mainly needs resurfacing is one project. A pool with damaged coping, leaks, plumbing issues, old equipment and worn decking is something completely different.
A useful way to think about it is to deal with the pool in this order:
Leaks and structural issues first.
Then plumbing and electrical.
Then equipment.
Then surface, tile and coping.
Cosmetic upgrades come last.
And if you’re comparing estimates, look beyond the total at the bottom. Check exactly what each contractor has included, because two quotes that look very different may simply be pricing different scopes of work.
