Happy Earth Day!
“Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty.” John Ruskin
Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earth’s natural resources for future generations. Earth Day is celebrated on
April 22 in the United States and on either April 22 or the day the spring equinox occurs throughout the rest of the world.

What are some things you do to help the environment?
Here is a simple solution for natural w**d killer versus harmful chemicals going into the ground!
This home-made w**d killer formula is very easy to make and stays effective for months if stored in a cool, dry place.
The standard recipe is
One gallon of white vinegar to one cup of salt, and one tablespoon of dish soap.
You can also double or halve the recipe as needed.
Here's how to make it:
Gather ingredients and supplies. You will need white vinegar, basic table salt, and liquid dish soap (Dawn blue dish soap is a good basic one). You will also need a container to mix it in, and a container to dispense it in. (Note that while a spray dispenser is easiest to use, you can also pour it onto roots and small w**ds directly.)
In a large bowl or bucket, add the ingredients.
Dispense into a sprayer or jar to use. A glass spray bottle is best, but plastic works fine, too. You can also store unused portions in a glass jar over the winter indoors.
HOW TO INCREASE EFFECTIVENESS
Vinegar-based w**d killers are most effective when used on w**ds that are younger and smaller in size, and that don't yet have established root systems.
If using this w**d killer on large w**ds, try cutting back the top growth first, to help concentrate its effectiveness near the roots, and also reduce the need for using as much of it.
