Stumbled upon these beautiful creatures this afternoon when checking the goat fence lines. There are two females and a male marble salamander. You can see the one female seems to be done laying and has a load of eggs around her. The other female just started and as you can see by her large abdomen, she has a lot in there. Watching over her is a pretty male. I covered them back up for protection and went on my way. ❤️

Walking around the horse pasture today, checking that everything is good after the storms. The honey locus tree doesn’t have a lot of pods this year, but the few there will be ready in a few weeks. You have to be cautious when harvesting though, LOOK at the size of the thorns covering this tree! All of the persimmon trees are loaded and slowly starting to drop. The horses and deer have already started circling all of the trees, creating bare rings under them all.

Remember those Fox Grapes we found in the NC mountains? LOOK at this beautiful jelly that they made😍. Per my daughter “It tastes good, different, not like store bought jelly, but like real grapes.” Honestly, can’t get a better compliment than the final product tasting like the actual fruit ❤️

A big hug and a lot of love for your hair in this jar. Homemade apple c***r vinegar with marshmallow root and rosemary steeped into it. Your hair will thank you! Yall know I make my soaps with minimal ingredients and lots of love. I use them head to toe and all in between. Well, once or twice a week I also do a diluted apple c***r vinegar hair rinse. I decided to add marshmallow root and rosemary to the mix knowing both of them contain great benefits for hair. My hair was so soft after the shower. I cannot tell you the last time I used store bought products on my hair. Please, go look at your toiletry items and try to read the list of ingredients.

Fall time=baking season! Something about fall weather brings on the need to bake sweets loaded with warm spices. Today’s concoction is sweet potato bread with raisins, loaded with all the warm spices and drizzled with a vanilla cinnamon glaze. The reason for sweet potato….no pumpkin on hand. Baking is not a science project. Mix it up and have fun!
