Andrew Mikhael Architect Andrew Mikhael Architect turns the uncertainty of custom builds and major remodels into a clear, guided process.

Turning complex custom builds and major remodels into a clear, guided process; so you can move forward with confidence, control costs, and create a home that’s unmistakably yours. Specializing in luxury residential projects in the Puget Sound area, we prioritize insight before design—helping you navigate zoning, feasibility, and budget constraints before you commit to construction. Whether you need to "Renovate In" to unlock hidden volume in your existing footprint or design a one-of-a-kind custom home from the ground up, we ensure your investment reflects your life, not just current trends. Based on Fox Island; serving Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Bellevue, Bainbridge Island, and beyond.

This skylight with a built in shade and hidden bug screen was worth the splurge for my clients. Would you get it in your new home?

Figuring it out as you go isn’t a plan. It’s a recipe for delays and disappointment. My process avoids the pain and focuses on the good stuff in a calm and patient way. Imagine enjoying construction!

I am not the architect for the “let’s decide during construction” crowd. If you prefer peace, follow, reach out and say hello.

My clients love this skylight with a built in shade and unique venting. It pops up with a bug screen around the perimeter so you get fresh air without letting anything in.

This small apartment needed an occasional space for overnight guests. Not enough square footage for a dedicated guest bedroom. So we did this instead. The corner pocket doors open up when privacy isn’t needed. From cozy lounge space to closed off bedroom in seconds.

Architect designed homes are made for the individual. McMansions were made for the dumpsters…am I being elitist?

Waiting till design is finished to bring in contractors for a bid is not the way to save money or get the best builder. In my architecture practice I used to do it that way but found a much better, collaborative, and cost effective way to get you the home of your dreams.

It is even the same camera angle. We made it a tad bigger by taking out a hallway closet but it’s the same room, redesigned to actually function for my clients’ needs.

Recipe for delays, change orders, and overall disappointment. Just take the time needed up front and don’t think you’ll have time to figure it out on the fly. It doesn’t work on a bathroom remodel or a $5mm house or anything in between.

A couple years ?! Since I first posted this. Short answer to anyone asking, it’s not an easy retrofit to your existing kitchen. This toekick step needs to be planned early to ensure enough room and level floors to make it work right. Cool though, isn’t it?
