In the beginning, there were five stumps.

Four of them were sentenced to immediate removal.

The fifth…

…received a full pardon.

As Kem walked over to inspect it, he gave the stump a little kick and said,

“This one’s mostly rotten.”

The homeowner smiled and said,

“Don’t take that one…a chipmunk lives there.”

Then she told us she enjoys watching the little guy early in the morning eating breakfast. 💛

Case closed.

Whew, what a wild night in West Georgia.
We hope everyone in Columbus, Midland, Harris County, and the surrounding areas made it safely through those severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings. 🌪️🙏

It looks like most of the power has already been restored in our area — such a relief. Still, a lot of folks woke up to debris, downed limbs, and trees that didn’t quite make it through the night.

As our community starts cleaning up and getting things back to normal, just know that Keep Chopping is here whenever you’re ready to take care of any leftover stumps.

We got two calls this week for stump re‑grinding.

One request was an emergency. 🆘 Landscapers couldn’t lay sod because a stubborn stump and its roots were still lurking below the surface.

Sure, you might get the cheapest price in town. Heck, it might even come “free” with your tree service.

But if they don’t grind the whole stump and you have to pay someone to come back and fix it… was it really a bargain?

(Then again, if the first time was free, what do you really have to lose? 😆)
