Sometimes you just have to make time for yourself 😁

Officially wrapped on this amazing potager garden on Eagle Mountain Lake in Fort Worth, TX, and I'm OBSESSED!! ❤️ 😍

Planted with creeping thyme between Oklahoma flagstone, fall veggies - cold-set tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, lettuce, lacinato kale, broccoli, purple sprouting broccoli, brussel sprouts, romano pole beans, bush beans. Herbs & flowers - nasturtium, marigold, cilantro, oregano, rosemary, English thyme, and 3 types of basil.

We also planted 5 columnar apple trees along the fenceline to add a bit of privacy while providing a compact orchard just outside the vegetable area.

This was an incredible garden to design, build, and plant, and I couldn't have asked for better clients.

If you want a custom potager garden of your own, and are in the DFW area, reach out & see what we can do to make your food growing journey thar much more exciting, pleasurable, and BEAUTIFUL!

Huge props to Fort Scape LLC and Taylor Birkey Trellises for helping bring this design to life!

Finalized the build, last week, on a uniquely challenging site!

From a full design and plan, to completed build, coordinating with the best landscapers, and contractors in the DFW area. Follow along as this space is finished out with seating, drip irrigation, lighting, a water feature, and planted out for fall 🍁🍁

And, if you're in the DFW area & need help with an existing edible garden, or a plan for a new or expanded edible garden, shoot me a message to schedule your consultation!

Special thanks to Fort Scape LLC and Taylor Birkey Trellises for such an amazing job executing on the design!

Since I made this video, last week, we are now receiving torrential downpours and are under flash flood warnings. 😳

So, if you're trapped indoors, come spend 5 minutes with me exploring the wonders of plant adaptability, and growing in small spaces.

Sunday morning garden check.

Lots of black-eyed peas, and the melons are ripening & smelling AMAZING!

Bright & early for a garden install!

Come with me to check out the September garden!

Things are still hot & crispy here in Texas, but there are some plants that THRIVE in this type of heat (unlike myself).

Not gonna lie, if I never experience another 100+ degree day as long as I live, it will still be too soon. This is brutal, but the peanuts don't seem to mind!

Not only are they super easy to grow, and tasty, but they're a beautiful plant that helps to fix nitrogen in your soil, making them a great cover crop for places with hot summers. I have mine growing as a groundcover all around my okra & roselle plants.

Peanuts are harvested in the fall after the plant has yellowed & died back, around the same time you'll be harvesting sweet potatoes.

So, if you haven't tried growing peanuts, I highly recommend them especially for hot, summer locations where not much else is growing.

Let me know, have YOU tried growing peanuts??

I always forget that I have two, old-school, OG "InstantPots" in this house. Sure does make things fast & easy when you have a freezer full of large cuts of meat, that would normally take DAYS just to THAW!

Yes, there's the time taken to vent, get to pressure, and reduce pressure, so total time is around 45 minutes, with the cooking portion being, 25 minutes. But, considering roasting this thing would take HOURS, I'm calling this a WIN! Plus, I don't need to buy or store any additional appliances 😁
