The evidence was there, but it took a little searching before we found these three baby raccoons hiding behind the fireplace. 🦝

We removed the contaminated insulation, sanitized the attic, air sealed entry points, and reinstalled fresh insulation. The little ones were safely relocated, and the attic is ready for a fresh start.

Why Air Sealing Matters

Whether it’s new construction or after old insulation is removed, air sealing plays a big role in how well a home performs. Insulation by itself doesn’t stop air movement. Gaps around electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and attic access points let heated and cooled air escape into the attic.

Proper air sealing helps keep conditioned air where it belongs, allows insulation to work more effectively, reduces HVAC run time, and improves overall comfort in the home.
