As the weather gets warmer, more motorcycles will be back on Fort Wayne roads.
The Fort Wayne Police Department reminds all drivers to look twice and save a life.
Motorcycles can be smaller and harder to see, especially when changing lanes, turning at intersections, or pulling out into traffic. Before making any maneuver, take an extra moment to check your mirrors and blind spots.
Motorcyclists:
• Wear proper safety gear
• Use headlights, even during the day
• Stay visible to other drivers
• Ride alert and within the speed limit
Drivers:
• Give motorcycles a full lane
• Leave extra following distance
• Watch carefully at intersections
• Always check twice before turning or changing lanes
A few extra seconds of attention can prevent a serious crash.
