Heights CareerTech Institute is open, and Southwest Florida's workforce just got stronger!

The Heights Foundation/The Heights Center celebrated the ribbon cutting for its new 63,500 sf campus in Harlem Heights. The investment will bring 10+ training programs, from electrical and HVAC/R to welding and nursing, to the region. Students, including a first class of aspiring electricians, are already in the labs and classrooms.

Owen-Ames-Kimball & RG Architects PA brought this project to life for The Heights Foundation, their second facility built together for the foundation. Special thanks to Kathryn Kelly, Founder, President & CEO of The Heights Foundation, whose vision made this moment possible.

When the new Woodland Elementary opens in fall 2027, it won't just look like a school, it will feel like a forest.

The design leans into natural materials and abundant daylight, shaping a building that echoes the woods it's replacing.

Woodland students got an early look at that vision coming together during a recent fence tour. Learn more: https://www.owen-ames-kimball.com/stories/woodland-elementary-fence-tour

We've got some news that has us smiling recently: O-A-K is Market One's 2026 Community Champion of the Year!

This award celebrates leadership and service across Southwest Michigan. For O-A-K, that's Tom Stanek's board service with Kinexus, Market One, and the Van Buren Economic Development Corporation. It's our team showing up each year at Van Buren ISD's Track and Field Day and the Portage Community Center's holiday gifting event. It's a Mass Timber partnership with Kalamazoo College built around sustainable construction.

As Blaire, Marketing Manager at O-A-K Kalamazoo, said while accepting the award: "Strong communities are built the same way great projects are built, through trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to something bigger than ourselves."

Thank you, Market One, and thank you to our people, clients, and partners who make this work possible.
