This week, we’re highlighting Kruz Curtis! Over the past year and a half, Kruz has learned a TON and continues to take on more responsibility around the shop and the jobsite.

He’s been helping run our boring machine and has also become one of our go-to in-house mechanics, keeping equipment running and ready to work. We’re proud of how much Kruz has grown in a short time and are excited to see where he goes from here!

So… what exactly is HDD or boring or directional boring?

HDD stands for Horizontal Directional Drilling (aka boring) — a trenchless method used to install underground utilities without digging a traditional open trench.

At R.H. Sheldon & Son, we’ve been an Ohio industry leader for over 50 years, installing countless miles of water, sewer, gas, and conduit throughout Ohio and surrounding states.

HDD allows us to drill underground, follow a planned path, and pull the new pipe or conduit into place — meaning less digging, less disruption, and a cleaner job site.

Over 50 years of experience and we’re still drilling forward.

Garrett Hackworth

If there’s a dirty job to be done, Garrett isn’t afraid to jump right in.

Garrett has been with R.H. Sheldon & Son for over a year and serves as our Hydro Vac Operator. He brings a ton of mechanical experience to the team, knows his way around equipment, and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty to get the job done right.

We’re lucky to have someone like Garrett on the team who brings skill, hard work, and a willingness to tackle whatever the job throws at him.
