For this project, we started with professional mold remediation to address existing moisture and mold concerns. We then applied closed-cell spray foam to the band joists to create a tight air seal while allowing the seal plate to remain open as designed.
Next, we installed a woven underlayment for added protection before installing heavy-duty poly across the crawlspace floor. The poly helps create a continuous v***r barrier, limiting moisture intrusion from the soil and helping keep the crawlspace dry.
We then snapped and leveled our lines to ensure a clean, precise installation. Double-sided termination-bar tape was applied, followed by mechanical fastening to securely hold the v***r barrier in place and provide a long-lasting seal.
To finish the system, we installed termination bar along the concrete perimeter, sealing the transition from the floor to the foundation walls and tying everything together into one complete, sealed crawlspace system.
We also installed two high-efficiency dehumidifiers to regulate humidity levels throughout the encapsulated crawlspace. Proper humidity control helps reduce excess moisture, prevent future mold and mildew growth, protect the wood structure, and maintain a healthier, drier environment beneath the home.
