When a gazebo is placed on top of pavers, we always think beyond the first day and ask: how will this hold up through wind, snow, frost, and time?
For this project, we (1) first carefully marked the exact location of each leg to preserve the patio layout.
Sometimes we get lucky, and the future gazebo leg lines up perfectly with a full set of pavers 🤌 In that case, we simply remove those stones and prepare the footing area.
Other times, the leg footprint lands only partially over certain pavers. That’s when we (2) carefully custom-cut the surrounding stones so that, once everything is finished, the original patio pattern stays as seamless and intentional as possible.
After that, we (3) dig below frost line for permanent concrete footings, giving the gazebo a solid foundation that won’t shift with weather or seasonal ground movement.
Once the footings are in place, we (4) clean up the area and reinstall the cut pavers around the base so the original design remains beautifully preserved.
Finally, (5) the gazebo is securely anchored to the new footings using heavy-duty hardware. Yes, it takes more time than simply placing it on top of pavers. But for us, peace of mind is worth the extra mile 🤗
