We responded to an emergency call for a bay door that would not close properly and was stuck approximately 3/4 of the way open.

🔍 Upon inspection, we found that both lift cables had come off the drums and become tangled, preventing the door from operating safely. During our diagnosis, we also discovered a damaged cable drum that requires replacement due to safety concerns.

🛠️ Work Performed:
✅ Reset and properly routed both cables
✅ Lowered and secured the door
✅ Removed spring tension to safely disable the door until repairs can be completed
✅ Discussed safety concerns and damaged components with management

For safety reasons, management and corporate approved leaving the door disabled until the damaged drum can be replaced.

We responded to an emergency call for an overhead door that would not close after both lift cables came off the drums and became tangled, leaving the door stuck approximately 3/4 of the way open.

📍 Location: 3rd Bay Door from the West Side of the Building

🔍 Diagnosis:
• Both cables were off the drums and tangled
• Door was stuck in the open position
• Discovered a damaged cable drum that presents a safety concern and requires replacement

🛠️ Work Performed:
✅ Reset cables on both sides of the door
✅ Safely lowered and secured the door
✅ Removed tension from both springs to disable the door until repairs can be completed
✅ Informed management of the damaged drum and associated safety concerns

For the safety of employees and facility operations, management and corporate approved disabling the door until the damaged component can be replaced.
