Client called with problem. She had a lot of work done to a commercial building. She is having her final Inspection Friday. One whole room was not working. Upon investigation I found an open neutral. After opening several boxes I found several loose and unconnected wires. Made the repair but noticed Romex and plastic boxes were used which is a violation. It can only be used in residential and not commercial applications. What is more troubling is the city has already given a final electrical inspection. I informed the client of the violation. Smh

I’ve seen a lot of things but this one here is a first. Client calls complaining that half of the house is out. In times past I have found in the city that dirty insulators on the pole causes this often and asked her to contact the utility company first to save her some money. This is her Service entrance cable. Three different pieces of wire one from the 1950’s twisted together. A fire waiting to happen. Please call a reputable electricial contractor.
