If you are loving our new 149 Norwegian Busserull pattern, you should check out our 102 French Cheesemaker's Smock! It is another European folk work shirt, that traditionally was made with a striped fabric, worn for farm work, and has a neck placket. These work shirts are boxy and comfortable, and not hard to sew! Find this pattern on our website (link in bio), and read more about folk work shirts on our blog.

The 107 Afghan Dress is a perfect canvas for creativity -- mixed fabrics, embroidery, sh**ha, beading, and more. And we got some gorgeous entries of this dress for our Handwork Contest last month. This incredible beaded and embroidered dress, then a dress with hand applique and quilting (with metallic thread), and finally a beautiful white on white embroidery with sh**ha embroidery with silver coins from around the world. So much creativity! So beautiful.

I’ve started on the tutorial for our 149 Norwegian Busserull. Using this medium weight cotton handspun - it is fun to work with and is the traditional striped color of the Busserull. Interestingly, it is quite a narrow fabric - only 30” wide. Perfect for this pattern. Stay tuned for a blog post on making this new pattern!

We have a new pattern: The 149 Norwegian Busserull! This pattern is a take on a classic Norwegian folk work shirt with timeless, clean lines and a relaxed, comfortable fit. Like traditional European smocks, the busserull is constructed from simple rectangles and squares that allow plenty of freedom of movement. This shirt includes underarm gussets for mobility, a buttoned front placket, and a distinctive, but optional, half-belt at the center back.
