As AI fuels rapid data center construction across the country, HBI President and CEO Ed Brady tells The Center Square that the growing competition for skilled tradespeople could make an already serious construction workforce shortage even more acute.

For HBI, the answer is clear: we need to train more people for careers in the skilled trades and build a workforce large enough to support housing, infrastructure and America’s growing economy.

Because when demand for skilled workers grows, our investment in the people who will fill those jobs has to grow with it.

A home built for today—and thoughtfully designed for tomorrow.

We recently completed this custom residence for a wonderful couple entering their next chapter, with every detail carefully considered to support comfort, safety, and independence over time. From step-free entries and wider passages to a zero-threshold shower, this home is designed to adapt as their needs evolve—without ever compromising on style.

The new year has brought changes in staff leadership for the HBAA and the Alabama Home Builders Self Insurers Fund, as some longtime staff members have taken on new positions.

Jason Reid, formerly the HBAA's Vice President of External Affairs, officially stepped into the role of HBAA Executive Vice President on January 1.

Robyn Bailey, formerly the Accounting Manager for the Fund, is now serving as the Fund Administrator as of January 1.

Courtney Foley, who has served as the Human Resources Director for the HBAA, Fund, and Construction Claims Management, has also been promoted to the role of HBAA Administrative Vice President following the retirement of Debbie Baxley at the end of 2025.

Russell Davis, who also retired at the end of 2025 from his role as the HBAA’s Executive VP, remains on a part-time basis as a consultant for the Fund.

We are excited about the future of the HBAA and Fund under our new leadership and are confident that they will continue to build on the incredible legacy forged by Russell and Debbie in their careers.
