Since boss lady Genesis is still in the hospital recovering from her appendectomy, she sent her #2 to keep an eye on things today. No bad weather late start allowed this morning. Thought he was gonna be a total menace and shut us down early. But only complained about the sun in his face a few times and made me zig zag around it. I guess I won't call out tomorrow and we can do it again.

Its amazing how small the world is. Last week my wife and Genesis ran into one of the Laughter League clowns from Boston Children’s Hospital. And then a few weeks ago we rented a dumpster to someone who was cleaning out their mother's house. After a few conversations over the phone, we realized we were talking with Ms Katz, a kindergarten teacher from Woods School, and she realized she knew of our daughter Genesis who we enrolled in kindergarten there this year. We talked for a bit and she assured me Genesis would do well there, and that she also runs to raise money for Dana Faber. She sent me a pic this morning of her runner tag with Gensis' name on it! Definitely put a smile our faces and we appreciate the thought. Go Ms. Katz!!

Good morning South Coast community!

We have a family in our community that could use your help. With a recent leukemia diagnosis of their child they will have a long road a head. This journey is any where from about five months to two years depending on the kind of leukemia. It is a heart wrenching, soul searching battle that the Genesis Disposal family knows all too well.

Happy Rare Disease Day!
Today is about raising awareness about rare diseases and their impact on individuals and their families.

In order for a disease to be considered rare, it must affect fewer than 1 in 2,000 people.

Genesis has a type of leukemia called AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). Only about 500 children per year in the U.S. are found to have this type of leukemia as it is more common in adults. Genesis has been been at Boston Childrens Hospital since November and is still currently being treated. We are hoping to bring the Boss home within the next few months.
