There are a lot of things that make this job rewarding, but moments like this remind us why we do what we do.

Over the past 2 weeks, our team at Restoration 1 of Evansville spent several days helping a homeowner through a difficult situation. From the first day on site to the final walkthrough, our crew showed up ready to work, communicate, and treat the home as if it were their own.

Restoration work isn't always easy. It often means long days, dirty work, and helping families during some of the most stressful moments of their lives. Our team takes a lot of pride in not only restoring homes, but also making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible for the people we serve.

When we finished the project, the homeowner was so pleased with the work and the care our crew showed that he rewarded the team by cooking them a homemade meal. It was an incredibly thoughtful gesture and one that meant a lot to everyone involved.

We're proud of the work we do, but we're even more proud of the people who make it happen every day.

The technicians, project managers, and office staff who go above and beyond for our customers are the reason moments like this happen.

One thing we talk about a lot is that mold remediation is about a lot more than just removing mold.

Before we ever start removing affected materials, we take the time to properly contain the area and protect the rest of the home. The last thing anyone wants is mold spores spreading to rooms that weren't impacted in the first place.

These photos are from a recent project where our team set up containment, protected flooring, and safely removed mold-affected materials.

It's not always the prettiest work, but it's important work. Taking the extra time to do things the right way helps protect the homeowners, their belongings, and the rest of the property.

Employee Spotlight – Kevin Watkins

Kevin has been with us for 5 years and has grown tremendously during his time here. Starting as a technician and working his way up to Project Manager, Kevin has earned every step through hard work, dedication, and a genuine passion for helping others.

One of the things that stands out most about Kevin is his heart for people. If there’s an opportunity to volunteer or help someone in our community, Kevin is usually the first one raising his hand and asking where he’s needed.

Kevin is always focused on learning and growing within the restoration industry. He constantly wants to know more, do more, and become better at what he does — and that mindset has made him an incredible leader for our team.

No matter how busy things get, Kevin has never been the type to sit back and say, “that’s not my job.” If we’re slammed and a job needs done, he’ll gladly throw his boots on, jump into demo, and do whatever needs to be done to take care of our customers and support our team.

Kevin is more than a Project Manager to us — he’s one of the most important people on our team and an absolute asset to who we are as a company. We appreciate everything he brings to Restoration 1 and are thankful to have him on this journey with us.
