Don’t let this happen to your home this winter, with the bad winter storms and heavy snow we endure every year.

Spruce trees is one conifer species you would want to be concerned about, of all our conifer. Spruce is the species that will most likely go first, in a heavy wind/snowstorm. Spruce tree roots are shallow, wide-spreading horizontal mats that stay mostly in the top 12 to 24 inches of soil.
I put up some images, to help you identify if you have any near your valuables that you think may be a concern.

Hello Folks,
I’ve put up some pics of our more common species of conifer trees that get affected in our area, and what to look for if you have any concerned about some of them. These are just a few images of insect infestation (Bark Beetle)(Pine Beetle), boring dust and holes. These are just a few, there are several insects that can damage your trees. If you see a large amount of pitch protruding from any of your conifer trees, (pine,fir,spruce,larch) this is an indication that it’s trying to push out whatever may be affecting its growth.
