You can literally see every aspect of an ant root infestation in this video! Ants moving up and down the trunk, the scale they adhere, the dehydration and spalling of the bark, and a dying limb. They are insidious and often terminal if not treated. They are the number one cause of death in native landscapes😔.

Here is another example of one of our dripper birdbaths. Finding the right rocks can be more challenging than it first appears. We have the dripper running much faster than normal for the short video - when turned down, we've measured a water usage rate of less than 5 gallons per month. You would use at least that much running outside and refilling daily. The movement is a significant draw for birds (and other wildlife). Our amazing director of operations, Leo Hernandez, runs this program and also sells the dripper assembly separately.

Our own Leo Hernandez is a master at maintaining California native landscapes. Here he demonstrates proper pruning technique with a beautiful Desert olive (Forestiera pubescens) in La Jolla, starting with a rather undefined mass of leaves. Other perennials in the bed are hard pruned to refresh them. BTW this is a perfect multi-trunked courtyard tree, topping out at 12-14’, with bark that glows when up-lit. This small tree also processes beautiful bright yellow fall color.
