Seeing hundreds of black-and-red bugs clustered on the sunny side of your house right now? Those are boxelder bugs — and October is their big move-in season.
They gather on warm siding in the fall, then slip inside through cracks around windows, doors, and foundation gaps to spend the winter in your walls and attic. They don't bite and they don't damage the house, but once they're in, they'll keep wandering into your living space on warm winter days — and vacuuming them up one by one never actually solves it.
The fix is treating the exterior now and sealing the entry points before they settle in for winter. That's exactly what we do on a HexGuard visit.
