This was a cool project we got to work with our friends at Green Solution Hydroseeding. This is a yard at a new construction house project in Sioux Falls.

This home belongs to a very nice young family. They want to have a nice yard to enjoy, and their little girl got to watch a lot of the process. 😊. We love being able to watch the transition with the homeowners.

The customer had around 10 tons of good, screened black dirt brought in, which he was able to spread around with a skid loader. Then, we came in with the Kioti with the soil pulverizer and made dozens of passes through the whole yard. This eradicated weeds, leveled out high and low spots, and softened up areas of compacted soil. In addition, we were able to pull up some roots from a tree that had been taken out previously, in addition to collecting various pieces of debris. The soil pulverizer really IS a great multipurpose tool!

The next day, we came back with our good friend Todd from Green Solution Hydroseeding and laid down a nice, thick layer of mulch, seed, and fertilizer. There was some light rain while we were working, and a nice rain shower continued after we left. Perfect timing!

Hydroseeding is a great way to quickly establish a lawn to enjoy for years to come!

Story time!

I'll share the actual before, during, and after photos later on...

This is a project that we're working on in Sioux Falls in conjunction with our friends at Green Solution Hydroseeding. If you're looking at this picture, you can probably see my irritation...

All 3 of these homes are new construction. The center one is still listed with a realtor. The one on the left is the one that we're preparing to be hydroseeded. The one on the right was hydroseeded by another company this morning. I have no idea who the company was, if they are local to Sioux Falls or not, but C'MON!! To shove all the sticks, twigs, rocks, debris and garbage onto another's property is just pure laziness. The ground I prepared had LOADS of roots, rocks, sticks and outright garbage. I loaded it into my loader and put it on a pile that the homeowner where we're working had started. If that pile weren't available, it would've gone in the back of my pickup and been disposed of.

Are we perfect? Nope. Do we do our best? Absolutely. If something isn't to our standards, it gets fixed. Do we learn new stuff all the time? ABSOLUTELY.

Whatever you do, do your best. If your best includes laziness like this, well, just don't let it. You're better than that. 😊

We're still tilling away! Sunday we did a yard in Salem so the customer can seed it after a construction project. We also did expanded gardens in Mt. Vernon and Huron. It was a warm day, but the Kioti performed flawlessly! 💪

I want to give a shout out to our customers in Huron we expanded the garden for. Their 18 year old daughter is taking gardening classes learning how to be more self sufficient. It was fun chatting with her. The young lady really knows her stuff!

On Monday, Memorial Day, we did our normal mowing route. It was another warm day, but we got it all accomplished!

We had a couple of gardens on Saturday. One was a large BRAND NEW one out in the country. As you can see, it turned out really good!

The second one was a smaller back yard one in Mitchell. It tilled up SO well. I love the smell of fresh turned soil!

We've got a couple more gardens to do this week amongst larger projects. It's not too late to get on the schedule!

⛈️⛈️ Be weather aware the next couple of days, folks! ⛈️⛈️

This is for tomorrow Sunday May 17th.. Make sure to have a weather plan in place.. storms will fire up and won’t take long to get to full strength.. we will be monitoring the situation and will also share links with live storm chasers on the ground covering these storms.. it’s not going to be just one storm it will be many that all have threats of large hail and damaging winds and possible very strong long track tornadoes.. also if there are tornadoes in your area don’t go out and try to chase them yourselves.. you just make things more dangerous when you are out there clogging up the real chasers that are professionals and do this for a living (they know what to look for not only on a radar but also what Mother Nature provides them) if you don’t know what rfd surge, outflow boundaries or what part of the storm the tornado forms in them don’t be out there. Timelines for tomorrow’s storm initiation will be after 2-4 pm and last through early Monday morning and beyond.. the storms that are really tall and bubbly looking are the ones producing large hail and tornados.. stay safe and weather aware these next few days and be sure to follow the page and share away

It has been a SUPER busy week! On Monday, we started off with our bi-weekly mowing clients. That took care of all of Monday.

On Tuesday, we headed to Geddes, SD. We widened out and leveled a driveway for a repeat client. He also had a pile of gravel that he wanted spread out and leveled, so we took care of that, too. He's got a gorgeous piece of land right outside of town that he's planning to build a shouse on in the next couple of years. I'm a wee bit jealous. 😂

Wednesday, Thursday, and today, we've been working on a farm cleanup just outside of Spencer, SD. It has a normal decades old iron pile that the owner wants cleaned up. So far, 5 loads have been taken to be recycled! There's probably 3 more left, along with an old dilapidated tractor that has had more than a few parts robbed from it. This will all be taken care of early next week, and more projects will be tackled after that!

After some morning work tomorrow, we'll be attending the graduation of a very special young lady. Bree Moke will be graduating from Emery High School! A huge congratulations is in order! 🥰

This is one of the closest projects we've done. At the end of the block! 😁

This project actually started last fall. We rounded up a lot of debris with the landscape rake and hauled it out. Today, we hit it with the soil pulverizer, which brought up a lot of bricks and rocks. One more swipe with the landscape rake to get rid of that, a few more rounds with the soil pulverizer, and this ground is ready for seeding!

The soil pulverizer is a great tool when the land being worked is too rocky for a tiller. Even though our tractor mounted tiller is heavy duty, this ground would've been VERY hard on it. That's why this implement is great to have on hand!

As you can see, a great soil bed has been created and grass will be planted soon!

This was a very cool project by the Spencer area. This wonderful lady has a very nice acreage, along with a few horses and an adorable little donkey. The area we worked up used to be a shelter belt with many dead trees. She had the trees all taken out, but with good reason and plans that we got to be a part of.

We hit several acres for her with the Land Pride Disk Harrow to break up clumps, till over weeds, level areas out, and to create a seed bed for step two. We hooked up the Behlen Seed/Fertilizer Spreader and spread over 100 pounds of pasture mix grass seed. The final step was to take the Landscape Rake, turn it backwards, and use it to cover the seed as well as break up any remaining clumps. As you can see, it turned out VERY nice!

The last couple of pictures are of the horse lot. It was very hard and covered with manure from years of use. We ran the disk harrow over it which made it nearly arena soft. The horses and donkey looked pretty happy. 😁

We will be showing a few more pictures later in the week/weekend as we will be doing a clean up project at the same property. She has a large metal/scrap/junk area as many Midwest farms and acreages do, and we're going to get it looking great for her again!

We had a SUPER busy Saturday! From Salem, to Mitchell, to Mt. Vernon, to Huron! We were tilling fools! 😂

As you can see, we had a little bit of everything yesterday. From tiny gardens to larger ones. Brand new ones to ones that have been in for years. It was a great day! New customers, returning customers, and referrals! It was awesome, and the weather was perfect.

You can see some of our feathered supervisors on one project. They LOVED the fresh tilled soil, along with a few worms and bugs I'm sure. 😂

One of our excellent new customers even shared some baked goods! (And man, was it delicious! 🤤)

We have a very busy few weeks coming up, but definitely have room for your project! This week, we will be disking and seeding a new pasture, disking a horse lot, and beginning work on a couple of farm clean-up projects.
