Whenever a potential client tells me they’re getting multiple quotes, my reply is always the same:

“Good. You should.”

Especially on major projects in your home.

It’s smart to learn roughly what things cost, compare options, and figure out who feels like the best fit for your project. Price matters, of course. But communication, professionalism, cleanliness, trust, and overall comfort matter too.

I know some contractors feel a certain way when people shop around, but personally, I think homeowners should have options. At the end of the day, you’re inviting someone into your home and trusting them with your space.

I recently had a friend replacing siding on his house. He got three quotes.

One contractor completely ghosted them.

One had a decent price, but was rude to his wife during the estimate.

The third was the most expensive quote out of the bunch, but absolutely knocked it out of the park with first impressions, communication, answering questions, showing samples, and making them feel comfortable throughout the process.

Guess which one got the job.

The goal shouldn’t just be finding the cheapest price.

It should be finding the right fit for the job.

Quick update! I will be taking a small r&r weekend away starting tomorrow (Thursday) and will be back Monday. I will respond to messages as soon as I am back.

Started the week off drenching a kitchen in the coolest moody maroon color, then pressure washed a big house for a returning client and finally stained the first deck of the season! It's been a week! 🥵🫠🥰
