Ever wonder how we create those thick, seamless-looking edges on quartz countertops?

It starts with precision. Two quartz pieces are cut at matching 45-degree angles, carefully dry-fitted, and joined with color-matched adhesive. Once the seam is aligned, our fabricators blend and polish the edge to create one clean, continuous surface.

The result is called a mitered edge—and it can make a standard slab appear substantially thicker without using a solid block of quartz. It’s a great option for dramatic islands, waterfall panels, and modern countertop designs.

Throwback to this stunner we fabricated with Robin Ford Building 🔨

We used MSI Q Premium Quartz for this one, and the island was where the craftsmanship really showed. A full mitered edge wrapping the perimeter for that thick, seamless waterfall look — paired with a farm sink featuring an interior radius.

That radius meant we had to hand-integrate a lamination around the sink and marry it cleanly into the miter running the perimeter. Details like this are exactly the kind of work our fab shop lives for. 👊
