Castle Stone + Tile recently completed this complete bathroom transformation! We took the old, failing shower down to the studs and rebuilt it with elite waterproofing and expert craftsmanship. The new design features a striking vertical stack of 3x12 green tiles, paired beautifully with a custom solid stone bench, gold trim, and a classic basketweave mosaic floor.

Not all remodels are just about looks—sometimes it's about fixing a major failure. 🛠️💧

We recently stepped in to help Noah Homes for the Disabled in Spring Valley when they discovered water leaking straight through an exterior wall. After demoing the failed accessible shower, we found root intrusion and mold.

Because this facility required specific floor heights, a traditional hot mop and deck mud pan wouldn't fit. Our solution? A complete, low-profile Schluter®-System rebuild. We handled the drain replacement in-house and meticulously matched the original tile for a seamless finish.

Swipe to see the transformation from a compromised substrate to a 100% watertight, safe environment for the residents! 👉

A beautiful bathroom starts behind the walls! 🛠️✨

For this down-to-the-studs remodel in Lemon Grove, we made sure the foundation was as flawless as the finish. When installing 12”x24” large-format porcelain, proper preparation is non-negotiable.

Here is how we ensure a lifetime of durability:
✅ Structural Reset: Stripped to the studs to guarantee a square, solid frame.
✅ Moisture Protection: Installed DensShield® backer board for a waterproof tub surround.
✅ Crack Prevention: Laid an uncoupling membrane on the floor to absorb subfloor movement and protect the new tile.
✅ Zero-Lippage: Used a professional wedge-and-clip system to force the heavy porcelain slabs perfectly flush.

Swipe through to see the progression from raw framing to a sleek, modern finish! 👉

Why do we love this combo?
1️⃣ The Look: You get the cozy, inviting warmth of natural hardwood floors without any of the maintenance anxiety.
2️⃣ The Light: Taking the high-gloss subway tile all the way to the ceiling reflects natural light, making the bathroom feel incredibly open and spacious.

Less grout, more luxury! ✨

Check out our latest walk-in shower transformation in Alpine, CA. We used stunning 15”x30” large-format porcelain slabs to create a seamless, modern oasis.

Why go with large-format tile? Bigger tiles mean fewer grout lines, which equals a cleaner, uninterrupted look and WAY less maintenance for the homeowner. Plus, the rectangular layout visually expands the bathroom, making the space feel massive.

Setting tiles of this scale requires expert substrate prep and precision leveling for a flawless, lippage-free finish.
