Our mold inspections take us to some pretty interesting places
and today’s job is at a jail!

I have to say, from what we’ve seen so far, this place looks pretty darn clean. Not that I’m an expert on the inside of jails
my only point of reference is a tour of Alcatraz.

Never a dull day at SMS.😜

If you know me, you know I don't shut it down. 😂

When you own a business, your brain doesn't exactly clock out at 5. There's always something to think about, someone to call back, or a problem to solve.

And if my phone rings at 6 a.m. or 8 p.m., chances are I'm answering it. That's just how I'm wired.

But there's ONE time of day when I shut it all off.

My 45 minutes at Burn Boot Camp- Edgewater, MD. đŸ’Ș

No phone. No emails. No distractions. Just me, a workout, and a chance to clear my head.

And man, do I need that time! Not just for my body, but for my sanity. 😂

Any other business owners have trouble turning their brains off?

And hey, I'm happy to take your call at 6 a.m. or 8 p.m. But midnight? Unless it's an emergency, let a guy sleep! 😂

Been in restoration for a while and wondering what’s next?

We’re looking for someone with a water mitigation or mold remediation background who’s ready to do something a little different.

You don’t need environmental inspection experience. We can teach you that part.

What we’re looking for is someone with a strong work ethic, good judgment, and the ability to take care of clients.

So if you know your way around a moisture meter but you’re ready for a new direction, I’d love to talk to you.

Know someone who fits the bill? Send this their way.

We’re on site at the new Kalahari Resort in Virginia as they get ready for their November opening....no, not riding roller coasters (yet!).

SMS is helping evaluate areas that experienced water-related issues during construction...making sure materials are properly dried, checking for signs of microbial growth, and evaluating indoor air quality.

And I have to give the team credit. With a project this size and an opening date getting closer, they’re doing their due diligence and making sure everything is properly evaluated before guests walk through the doors.

Now for the important stuff
 😂
Indoor water park. Roller coasters. Indoor go-kart tracks.
You better believe I’ll be getting my tickets and coming back this winter. Hopefully next time without the testing equipment!

Pretty cool project for SMS to be a small part of.

Apparently, we were ready for sweater weather! I do not recall getting us these.

It’s exam day at SMS!

Eric is taking his annual asbestos inspector exam, and Bryan is taking his annual project designer exam.

Apparently, no matter how long you’ve been doing this, someone still gets to hand you a test and ask, “So
do you actually know what you’re doing?” 😬

Continuing education and annual exams are all part of staying current in the environmental world.

So today, we study. We test. And hopefully
we pass. đŸ€ž

Wish these two luck!

Found a FedEx that will take our samples up to 8 o’clock!

Great option when we need it!
