Phase 1: Woodland Edge Reset

This woodland edge had become dominated by honeysuckle, silver maple, and Norway maple. The dense, shade-tolerant midstory limited light and suppressed native regeneration.

Phase 1 focused on selective removal to restore structure, not clearing everything.

Reopening the canopy and reducing invasive pressure allows light to return to the forest floor so the system can begin responding naturally.

Future phases will monitor regeneration, likely including supplemental planting of native oaks, and establish a transitional buffer strip to soften the edge and improve habitat.

Restoration happens in layers, and each property is unique.
