It's been a while since I’ve done any drawing, but I’ve been busy putting together a full renovation plan for a client. Thursday had been a mix of re‑caulking windows, fixing siding, and heading to Gaffney to work on a estimate for an ADA‑compliant kitchen/laundry overhaul. My current project involves completely renovating the galley kitchen and laundry room, installing new flooring throughout, and ensuring both areas are fully compliant with ADA standards. The space where the oven is currently located on the left side will be repurposed to house a washer and dryer, flanked by two floor-to-ceiling cabinets. The sink will be lowered and will feature a stainless steel counter and open shelving. The former laundry area will be transformed into a new kitchen, complete with a live edge countertop along the back wall, situated in front of the large window. The stovetop and wall-mounted oven will be positioned in the corner where the washer and dryer are presently. I plan to incorporate open shelving with convenient drop-down racks for easy access. Following this, I will be constructing a catio and a back deck, which will be built adjacent to the aluminum elevator platform my client is having installed over the back stairs. The deck and platform will feature a cover that extends to another cover over the walkway, leading back to the building, to ensure his highly sensitive wheelchair remains dry. The catio tunnel will extend along the back corner of the deck to the edge, creating a "two-story catio" with landing platforms towards the bottom with access from the walkway below. Subsequently, I will be adding insulation and new wooden siding to his workshop, as he is a sculptor and needs a cool and warm place to work. Y'all let me know what you think, It's the biggest job Ironwood HnH has taken on but I am confident with my experience I can do a good job. Once I finish the rendering I will post an update. Please follow along to see the results.
